Student Submissions

Before submitting your final output, have you considered the below are the 3 key areas the judges will be looking for when assessing your work?

  • Harnessing your creativity...

Different members of your team are likely to have varying methods of creative expression, be it through art, literature, photography etc. Were you able to let your imagination run free? Did you choose a safe option for the submission or did you think big and take risks? Is your output inspiring to others? In what way is it different from what has been done before?

  • ..working together...

You will have to demonstrate how you worked as a team: How did you ensure all members' voices were heard? What strengths did your team have? How did you refine your different ideas into one output? What have you learned from it all? Throughout Steps 1-3, keep notes of your brainstorming ideas, discussions, debates, and feelings that can be used for the supplementary submission.

  • ...for positive change.

Most importantly, your submission will need to demonstrate a clear benefit to your school or community. Have you illustrated how Islington can become climate resilient? Have you considered the diverse needs of your community and the most vulnerable? Could your work inspire others to care about overheating and climate adaptation?
